Contacts

Take a look at who got contacts!

Here she is with friends sporting my sunglasses. The contacts went great at first. She had no problem putting them in or taking them out. Life was good. She wore them for a week and then her eyes started to get red and irritated. I thought maybe she had an infection. So, she stopped wearing them. Well...fast forward to the eye doctor appointment. He gave her the sad news that she is not going to be able to wear them anymore. Her eyes are just too dry. We knew they were dry and it was a possibility that it wouldn't work before she got them. So, it wasn't a huge surprise.

Anyway, she's back in her glasses which she says is totally fine with her. The only problem is that the sun bothers her eyes so bad. Doctor said it's all linked to the dry eyes. We'll be ordering her a pair of prescription sunglasses soon so she can wear them especially on the ball field.

Bye bye contacts. Thanks for trying anyway.

Emily had that problem. Her doctor even swabbed off the top layer of her eyeball on accident, but she was able to wear oasys contacts. Sorry about Shelbs! It's good that she is ok with it. Emily may have been, Val would not have been!

What a rotten deal. She's pretty either way, and her Gram's loves her a lot.

OH my, I have these SAME problems with my eyes. My eye dr. tells me to use Thera-tear eye drops (no preservatives) AND when they were really dry and hurting I used a goopy eye gel stuff at night that helped so much. There are days I got outside and cannot open my eyes AT ALL....or the worst, is when I start driving, thinking my eyes will adjust and I'll be able to open them soon, but I can't...they won't open but for a few seconds and then close again they hurt so bad. I've had to pull over! Poor thing...her, not me!

oh yes, Oasys contacts...that's what I can wear too! Maybe she still can't wear those, but it's worth a try if she ever tries again! My doc said it's really important to take them out the last 1-2 hours of your day, and have glasses on before bed, it helps them not be so dry.
