Happy Birthday Michelle!

That's Michelle under that hair. You can't see her because she's playing with Landon. She does that ya know. Plays. Laughs. Has fun.

When I asked Shelbie what she likes about her Aunt Michelle she said "she's a kid on the inside". And I think that's a perfect quote.

I hope your birthday was as great as you are Michelle!! I love you.

Another year older..

Happy Birthday to lil ole me. Ya. Another year's gone by so quickly. They just keep getting faster and faster. Did the earth's rotation get faster and nobody tell me? I dunno. It's been an interesting year. New job, more school, older kids, weight gain (yikes), the usual stuff and some not-so-usual stuff. Either way I have to admit now to being a year older. I really don't like it. I've never really liked my birthday much and I think a big part of it is that it's so close to Christmas. That's a bummer. As a child and even as an adult it stinks. But, what's a person to do? You can't be re-born.
Anyway, the GOOD NEWS! My nephew and his wife went in this morning for a childbirth induction. I may get a great niece today! I will let you know. It will be a special day to share a birthday with her. I hope, I hope.
I worked this weekend. 26 hours in 2 days. Wow. I work again tomorrow and then I'm off for a week!! I still have shopping to do. I am running out of time. Why, oh why, do I procrastinate? I always have.

Similiarities

I've been watching Jon & Kate plus 8. The main reason I enjoy this show is because of one of the sons; Collin. I swear that boy has so many similiarities to Landon when he was that age. They look so much alike. They sound alike. I just like to watch it because it brings back all the memories of Landon toddling around.

This profile picture shows him but I see more similitaries when I watch the show. Has anyone else noticed this?

iPod

I've been loading songs on my iPod tonight. You can never have too many songs. Tim bought me this iPod a couple of years ago for Christmas. It was a total surprise and the best gift ever. Seriously. I have used this iPod pretty much every day since I've received it. I use it when I work out, when I clean houses, to fall asleep at night, and at other musical times during the day. I'm using it right now as I surf on the internet too. Good example right there, huh!

Anyway, I just thought I'd share a couple of my favorite songs right now. Click on these links if you wanna listen!

a favorite song of mine - I love, love, love the sort of gravelly (is that a word?) sound to her voice in this song.

another favorite song of mine - This song is just a fun, light hearted, easy listening song. It's kind of relaxing to me.

yet another favorite - I like the lyrics to this song. Kinda a unique thought "If I Were A Boy".

Ok. That's enough sharing for one day. I LOVE music. I have tons and tons of favorite songs. I think i tend to radiate towards women's vocals. And I also lean towards acoustic guitarish songs. When I look through my iPod I see a lot of Alternative genre songs. Actually, come to think of it I pretty much like it all. All except the classical stuff. What are your favorite songs? Isn't it so interesting how everyone has such different taste in music? Cool beans.

1st basketball game

I stole this picture off of grandma's blog. Thanks Grandma for bringing your camera! It was his first basketball game and he did great. He is aggressive and a good ball handler. He admits he needs to practice his shooting. He shot a ton of times, making one basket. I think he has some basketball in his blood even though he says he's ALL FOOTBALL.

testing

I'm testing out the new camera. I need to take the time to figure it out. My camera skills that I learned in high school is foggy, pretty much obsolete actually. I have a ton of memories with my best friend, Michelle and I in the dark room developing film. Gosh we had fun. Some of my favorite pictures to take were sports shots. I loved getting pictures of the boys basketball games. Do you think the cute boys had anything to do with it? Possibly. Anyhoo...I guess I need to learn what all these buttons are on this camera.

Remember when..

Every year when we put up the Christmas tree we have to talk about this ornament. We had this ornament from before Landon was even born. It was one from a craft show that was homemade. It was made with that dough that looks edible but they bake it. Anyway, back to my story. One year when Landon was a lot younger he tried to eat it. He took a bite off the poor gingerbread man's leg. It was really funny. And now, yet again, we re-live that memory and laugh once again. He loves it when I tell that story too. That lil stinker. I like the ornament better with a broken leg and a memory that I would if he had both legs.

Concert

Last night was Shelbie's chorus program. The kids were instructed to wear white shirts and black slacks or skirt and black shoes. Of course she had NONE of these things in her closet so this last weekend we had a girls shopping date. We were on a mission. Now, let me tell you....to find a girls plain white shirt is VERY hard to do. Oh ya, we saw the plain button up ones but this is Shelbie we're talking about. Anyone that knows her well knows that she WILL NOT wear buttons. She has refused to wear buttons since she was little. She just doesn't like them. And that's ok, it's her taste. But, that made it very hard to find a white shirt. We got lucky and found this pretty blouse. Yes, it has black lace on it but it was the best we could do. Plus, I think she's pretty in it. Well..she's always pretty come to think of it.

The 6th grade kids sounded great. The Christmas songs that were sang started to get me in the Christmas mood. Can you find her in this picture? Doesn't look like she's even signing here but she did sing. Beautifully, I'm sure. Here's a clip of it on Grandma's blog.

Cousins

This is a favorite picture of mine taken from Thanksgiving. I'm thankful for each of these kids. These four cousins are close. Emily and Shelbie are stuck on each other like glue. Landon likes to bug them all (just as any boy would). And Valleri is now of the age where she wants them all to leave her alone (understandably since she's a teenager). But, I managed to get this shot of them and I'm thankful for that.

Not forgotten

My blog is not forgotten. I have some wonderful pics to share off the camera but it's a new one so it may take a while for me to figure out. It's a really nice camera too!! I'm excited about taking a ton of pics.

Thanksgiving was good. Tim's mom cooked a delicious dinner that must have taken her hours to prepare all by herself. It's crazy how it takes so long to prepare and it's devoured in minutes. I guess that means it was good! Thanks Nancy for all your hard work and for fillin' my tummy to the rim.

Pics from the day are to come in another post. I need to figure out how to get them off the camera first.
